The Manufacture d'Armes de Paris (M.A.P.) was founded in 1915 for the manufacture of weapons. After World War II, M.A.P. continue to manufacture weapons and typewriters. However, the production of agricultural machinery was started. The Tractor World Championship was won in 1948. The goal was now to break diesel records with a car. On February 5, 1949, the M.A.P. Diesel on the Montlhéry ring and broke six world records. The car covered 50 km with an average speed of 178,053 km / h, the 50 miles are covered with 178,899 km / h, the 100 km with 179,790 km / h, the 100 miles with 182,788 km / h, the hour with 182,788 km / h h and finally the 200km at 182.788km / h. After this success we find the company M.A.P. the following year at the beginning of the Le Mans 24 Hours in 1950, just before the company went bankrupt.
