MAYBACH DS8 Zeppelin Stromlinie Spohn Ravensburg 1933

The Stromlinien had such a commanding presence due to its revolutionary design that it practically redefined the shape a car should have. Although some MB designs were impressive as well, they couldn't top the awesomeness of this stream-lined giant that rolled on the road as if it glided through a transparent mass of water.

The only thing the Stromlinien shared with the rest of Maybach's line-up was the type 12-derived 200 hp engine. Its nose was bent into a flowing structure with a concave grille flanked by rounded fenders while the rear was sharply drawn into a triangular element incorporating the cabin. Having been the first car designed with the thought of aerodynamic efficiency in mind, the luggage compartment was included into the rear which received two stylish parallel access doors.
