Ferrari 854 Ferrarina Mitraglietta 1959 Prototyp Giotto Bizzarrini

Limitation: 100 pieces

During the 1959 press conference, Enzo Ferrari presented the first (and only) Ferrari engine with a displacement of less than 1 liter: exactly 854 cc. Enzo wanted to design and develop a 1-liter GT. We can speculate that the Suez oil crisis of 1956, which gave birth to the Mini, the Isetta and many other small cars, could have got the ball rolling. Indeed, it was a third of a 250GT engine with a bore of 65mm and a stroke of 64mm crowned by an SOHC, and was characterized by the fact that it instantly delivered 75 horsepower at 6800rpm could - far ahead of the competition of the era. Enzo Ferrari himself tested the first prototype on the road. The temporary body comes from a Fiat, but the tubular chassis is "made in Ferrari" and was designed by Giotto Bizzarrini. The first prototype was tested in Monza in 1960.

The Ferrari 375MM (MM = Mille Miglia) was a racing sports car that was developed by Scuderia Ferrari and used in sports car races from 1953 to 1964. A total of around 30 copies, ten series coupés and 16 series Spider with Pinin Farina body, a Ghia coupé and a Vignale Spider were produced. In addition, Pinin Farina built a special coupé for actress Ingrid Bergmann (chassis number 0456AM) and a special convertible for the King of Belgium (number 0488AM), the latter equipped with the 4.9-liter engine from the 375 Plus.

Ferrari's first production racing car, the 166 MM, was introduced late in 1948. While Ferrari was busy building and racing cars in the 1950s, the factory found time to build luxury cars that were truly in a class of their own. This by no means was a series production; on average only one of these was constructed each month. In 1958 a new Pinin Farina body became available, which was fitted on another twelve cars. The car was first presented at the Paris Motor Show in 1958.

Ferrari 166 MM / 212 “Uovo” - the egg that Enzo Ferrari didn't like

If you wanted to win the Mille Miglia in the early 1950s, you were either extremely talented as a racing driver or you had your pockets full of money. Gianni (Giannino) Marzotto certainly had the means to afford the best racing cars of the time, but he didn't let anything burn when driving. When the Ferrari company cars did not convince him, he had an aerodynamic coupé built without further ado.

A man restores a red Ferrari 365 GT4 BB from the ground up and then discovers that his example is the only 365 BB that was once delivered in a bright green (Verde Germoglio). The fact that it is now a one-off in terms of color has not harmed the current value of the car, to put it mildly. But that would be a different story then.
